California stimulus allocations

In a July 2009 report by Good Jobs First the organization evaluated California's state website that details the implementation of the $787 billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. California received a score of 48 out of 100.[2]
State programs
California is expected to receive approximately $85 billion from the $787 billion economic stimulus package. According to White House officials the stimulus bill is estimated to create or save 110,185 jobs. [3]
Federal officials reported that state companies and local governments had created approximately 110,219 jobs using stimulus dollars. As of October 30, 2009, a total of 1,167 contracts have been awarded, a total of approximately $1.35 billion. In total, including grants, contracts and loans California has received $18.55 billion.[4]

Education
Education accounts for approximately 14% of total state allocations. The state is scheduled to receive approximately $11.8 billion. Some of the programs and projects funded by stimulus allocations include: higher education, technology grants, special education, infrastructure, school lunches and child care.[69]
Health and Human Services
Health and Human Services accounts for approximately 23% of total state allocations. The state is scheduled to receive approximately $19.5 billion. Some of the programs and projects funded by stimulus allocations include: Medicaid, food stamp program, Women Infant Children (WIC) and assistance to persons with disabilities.[69]
Transportation
Transportation accounts for approximately 6% of total state allocations. The state is scheduled to receive approximately $4.7 billion. Some of the programs and projects funded by stimulus allocations include: highway improvements, airport improvements, public transit system improvements, rebuilding and repairing highways and local roads.[69]
Cuts in funding
Approximately $8 billion in federal stimulus funding is being cut from the national total.[70]
