Lecompton, Kansas
Lecompton is located in Douglas County, Kansas and is the historical territorial capitol of Kansas. It is best known for the Lecompton Constitution which is mentioned several times in famous Lincoln-Douglas presidential debates. Lecompton is known to be the ideological birthplace of the civil war and was also home to many of the violent incidents surrounding the "Bloody Kansas" episodes.
Lecompton has a population of just over 600.
